"noun"

for two pianos

By Cameron Johnston

February, 2018

Noun

When coming to decide the title of this piece, I spent a long time on a random noun generator website waiting for the right word to call my piece. I eventually gave up and went with the name nounnoun is a piano duet from the ground using dense chords and harmonies, with heavy hocketing and syncopation to create a wild and erratic atmosphere. It's a playful piece that avoids sounding too happy. noun is a very intimate piece with heavy dependence on each player.
